Well, it looks like the cat’s out of the bag: Signtline’s expanding staff, and adding three new voices to the Daily Score blog. And we couldn’t be more excited.
Roger Valdez, a veteran policy researcher, community problem-solver, and public-sector manager—and a blogger on the Seattle Journal of Daily Commerce’s SeattleScape—is joining Sightline’s research team.
In addition, two veteran reporters from the Seattle Post -Intelligencer — Jennifer Langston and Lisa Stiffler—will be teaming up to edit our Sightline Daily news service.
Jennifer spent the last decade covering environment and sustainability issues across the Northwest. She pioneered the neighborhood sustainability beat for the P-I, covering topics ranging from “food deserts” in urban neighborhoods, to land use and development controversies, to personal actions to reduce family carbon footprints.
Lisa made a name for herself conducting investigations on the health of Puget Sound, the national failure to protect endangered species, and the multi-billion dollar Hanford cleanup. Lisa was also a regular contributor to the P-I’s blog, Dateline Earth. We’re ecstatic to have two of Cascadia’s sharpest journalists at the helm of the daily news digest.
Watch for Roger, Jennifer and Lisa’s posts to start appearing on the Daily Score in April. Please welcome them!

I’m so glad to see some of the fine reporters from the P-I finding such a good home!
