Sightline Institute Is Seeking a Research Associate
Sightline Institute—the Pacific Northwest’s sustainability think tank—is looking for a rising star to add to our growing research team.
Job qualifications: The successful candidate will be 1) A generalist who thinks clearly on a wide range of topics; 2) A writer who prizes clarity and concision; 3) A number-cruncher who enjoys spreadsheets and data; 4) An avid, rapid learner; 5) An individual who is passionate, both about sustainability and about getting the facts right. Applicants should comfortable with technology and an online publishing environment. Working for Sightline means being a team player in a highly collaborative setting. We especially encourage applications from candidates with truly outstanding academic records.
Job responsibilities: The research associate’s tasks will vary. Tasks could include assisting in researching and writing Sightline’s annual sustainability progress report; contributing to Sightline’s blog; a variety of research projects aimed at a number of different audiences. Research topics may include: climate policy, transportation, toxics, green jobs, energy policy, sustainable lifestyles, or affordable housing. Members of the Sightline research team also act as media liaisons and coordinate with policymakers and allied organizations.
