It might be halfway into August, but never late than never for our photo of the month series. Last month, Seattle opened its first light rail line, captured below by Willie Weir (a recent guest contributor to the Daily Score, no less).
Why do we like this picture? Whether you were for light rail or against it, it’s come to the Puget Sound—and now’s the time to make the most of it. This picture shows a new choice available to commuters. Whether we walk, bike, bus, drive, or ride the train, we now have a new option when seeking out the quickest and most convenient way to travel.

It’s really not composed very well. The best artistic image I’ve seen of Link LRT is Sound Transit’s ‘Link on the Duwamish bridge’, probably in oil or acrylic paint. I could send my best shots of the new MAX trainset.
