Conversations about Climate

Photovoice is a technique where people are given cameras and asked to capture images of events, problems, or concerns in their community in ways that can encourage dialog and change. With the support of the Sightline Institute and the Walter Chapin Simpson Center for the Humanities we conducted a Photovoice project in September 2008 involving local K-12 schoolteachers and environmental professionals. We held two workshop sessions (one for training and the other to discuss outcomes) and focused on three topics: sustainable living, green-collar jobs, and climate change. This document briefly describes this process and outlines some preliminary findings, insights, and outcomes from these sessions.
