Sightline on big-return transportation fixes We love our cars. Even when we’ve decided we’re done with our co-dependent car relationships, northwesterners are drawn back into whirlwind romances with green auto technology, from plug-in hybrids to biofuels to freedom cars. Some auto-centered solutions truly do hold great promise, but lately we’ve been wondering—does all that romance distract from the less glamorous, but ultimately more effective, transportation policy solutions? Sightline has been doing lots of thinking on why cars are sexy and policies like carbon taxes or bike-friendly streets, well, just aren’t.
