We love our cars. Even when we’ve decided we’re done with our co-dependent car relationships, northwesterners are drawn back into whirlwind romances with green auto technology, from plug-in hybrids to biofuels to freedom cars. Some auto-centered solutions truly do hold great promise, but lately we’ve been wondering—does all that romance distract from the less glamorous, but ultimately more effective, transportation policy solutions?
